Day.....ahh bugger Ive lost count

Ive lost count doing this and trying to remember everything ive done is hard work for a young hard working girl!! lol anyway.....got up again at 6am and came down for breakfast(for me really a drink of juice and maybe some toast if i can be bothered). As we came out,we saw that our bin had been empted and everything was all over the floor. Bloody monkey's had been in at them again. Walk to work was really nice as it wasn't too hot as this time of the day. Arrived and went straight into the zoo and started work.
Nothing really major happened really until the late afternoon. We were feeding Wusabi and had the cage door closed but not locked so that everyone could get out after we had finished. 4 of us were inside the cage(including Ili) feeding Wusabi while Sue and Linda stayed outside. I think it was Sue went to get something and we were distraced by something for like 5 seconds and Wusabi had flung open the cage door!!! Oh ohhh! before we knew it she was out and away and had climbed up the front of her cage right to the top and just sat there. She knew this was fun but it wasn't for us as Ili started getting very nervous as she knew that she would be in trouble if any keeper found out!
We got some fruit that we had left and Ili got a jar of honey(her favourite) to try and get her down. She came down the cage just slightly but still stayed a safe distance away so that she knew we couldn't grab her. After about 15 minutes Ili called for Uncle Manning(the head keeper) who soon arrived and Wusabi came down. She got a horrible beating from the keeper which was really not sure but just to say that she had done bad and not to do it again. Although to be fair she was grabbing onto the keepers and trying to bite the keepers too. She got put back in the cage but it was all very tramatic for her she was very traumitised so Ili stayed in the cage with her for atleast an hour trying to calm her down. Ili had said that because a human had hit her then she would probely think that any human would hit her and that they are going to be cruel to her so not to trust them and be very defensive.Luckily she was ok and was soon playing again and back to her normal self.
It was a very traumatic day though for everyone especially Ili who kept apologising to everyone about what had happened and that you should never see a keeper hit a orangutan. We went for a late lunch and changed the subject and soon laughing and cheering at our local over a beer(me a coke ofcourse!)

don't swear on your blog hun...not appropriate! anyway...sounds like you're enjoying it. Didn't like the idea of the keeper hitting the orangutan. he shouldn't have done it under ANY circumstances so best be more vigilant in future. Take photos remember and try and upload them on to your blog.

love mum xx
